A gees-filled video that Fish Hoek Primary School made in support of the Bokke as they compete in the Rugby World Cup in Japan is going viral on YouTube.
In August, the school showed its ardent support for the national team by making the video of pupils and teachers wearing their Springbok jerseys, cheering “our blood is green” and singing the national anthem.
The school also challenged Sun Valley Primary School to do the same and then pass the challenge on to a new school.
The video – made by Grade 7 teacher Jan Ferreira and Grade 5 teacher Michelle Fish – notched 4 500 views on YouTube since it was shot.
Megan Merifield, from the school’s marketing department, said the Springbok players and South African rugby supporters from across the globe had recognised the school’s efforts.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup is on until Saturday November 2. This is the first time the tournament is being held in Asia and outside the traditional heartland of rugby union.
