Oscars Arc Woof Project, which helps dogs from shelters find good homes, held two pop-up adoption drives in Kalk Bay over the past two weekends. Project leader Chanel Fourie said 30 dogs were re-homed this past weekend. All dogs, with the exception of puppies under six months of age, are vaccinated and sterilised. Oscars Arc was founded by Joanne Lefson in 2017 and named in honour of her adopted dog and best friend, Oscar, who travelled around the world visiting 45 countries to promote dog adoption. Oscar’s travels made him the international ambassador for homeless dogs, raising awareness of their plight. Oscars Arc will pop up on the dog-free running area on the Sea Point Promenade this coming weekend, February 16 and 17, from 9am to 6pm.
