Great day out for youngsters

A Simon’s Town School group were invited to visit the three Chinese ships that visited the SA Navy in Simon’s Town on May 19. The group is pictured aboard CNS Daqing with their Chinese hosts and Lieutenant Wang Qun who took them on a tour. A few days earlier, the school attended a recital of a traditional Chinese instrument, the cucurbit flute, at the Baxter Theatre hosted by the UCT Confucius Centre.The school is learning more about Chinese culture as Chinese is to be offered as a subject at the start of the third term. The school’s principal, Jean Human, was part of a delegation that visited China in April.
