Something that doesn’t happen often is Ash Searle and Vanessa Harris on stage together. This couple, who now run the Kalk Bay Theatre and Restaurant, are back on stage together for the first time after taking the theatre into their own hands.
Love At First Fight is a romantic dance/comedy where they expose the real and often idiotic facts behind a committed relationship – the highlights and the low blows – and they’ll keep you on the edge of your seat as they skim the ceiling with their agile and riveting dance acrobatics. It’s a date night from hell; a perfect blend of the stereotypical and the nonsensical – chaotic chemistry, fumbling foreplay and endless escapades.
The show was created over seven years ago, not long after Ash and Vanessa tied the knot. Since then they have created a string of highly entertaining productions from the crazy Big Boys to the gentle Bar None, the spellbinding Another Day and the recent Bon Soir.
Ash and Vanessa have won awards for their innovative and crowd-pleasing work and are excited to reignite their first creation with fresh ideas and bags of experience.
The show will guarantee high action and laugh out loud en- tertainment – and you’ll squirm in recognition of the typical couple’s imperfections and, of course, rekindle your own love affair!
The production features mature content that may be inappropriate for younger viewers. Although the content is insinuated and generally subtle, it is not recommended for those under 13.
The show runs until Satur- day May 14. Bookings on http://www.kalkbaytheatre.co. za or at the theatre door Tuesdays to Saturdays from 3pm to 8.30pm). For details call 021 788 7257 or email kalkbaytheatre@ gmail.com
