An elderly man lost his life when several formal and informal structures caught fire in Seawinds, Lavender Hill this morning.
The City’s Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 11.20am on the corners of Military and St Augustine roads.
While extinguishing the fire, firefighters found the body of an elderly man amongst the debris.
No other injuries were reported.
The scene was handed over to the police for a formal investigation.
