Times must be very tough for doctors. It seems that they don’t earn enough from the few minutes they spend seeing you, while charging you for a full visit.
Imagine my disbelief and utter disillusionment when I received an account for almost R50 for a phone call from the doctor to give me my blood result.
Obviously, the amount involved is not the question but it is proof again that the Hippocratic Oath disappeared from the medical practice a long time ago.
There was a time when I, and I am sure many other persons, respected the medical fraternity. Why is it that they seem to have turned into money-grabbing opportunists?
Disappointed!
