Ocean View’s children had a chance to meet police officers, firefighters and other local heroes on Saturday.
Luke Koeries, of non-profit Kids are Kids, organised the day to inspire the community’s children to become the next generation of heroes; thank the unsung heroes who put their lives on the line to help others; and remember those who had gone before.
He spoke about Nelson Mandela’s legacy and about the everyday heroes who did all they could to serve and save others as well as those who had given their lives in that pursuit.
