Retreat Vlei Festival

■ The Izivunguvungu Youth Band A Team performed at the Retreat Vlei Festival earlier this month. This was followed by them leading the parade, plus a concert at the Navy Festival in Simon’s Town. The preparations, rehearsals and final performances were all achieved despite the security problems in the areas around Ocean View and Masiphumelele where the students live and practise. The Izivunguvungu MSC Youth Foundation reaches over 200 young people in the areas above Simon’s Town, developing various skills.
