Jordan Wright and Amber Liebenberg, both from Gardens, at the vintage sale on Thursday.
The Vintage with Love annual 2022 sale took place at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal at the Waterfront as literacy month, marked in September, came to an end.
Debbie Smuts, from Vintage with Love, said the event, from Thursday September 29 to Sunday October 2, was very well-supported, with people donating “amazing” merchandise for the sale.
Daniela De Abreu Els from Lansdowne visited the sale as part of her birthday plans.
She said around 7 500 items of clothing were for sale, and due to the pandemic, this was much less than what they have had in previous years. “We find that people haven’t travelled or shopped much, so people haven’t bought much clothing, and haven’t given much of their older clothing away.
“We need stock all the time”
Sisters Amron and Geo Siebritz from Cape Town.
She said the Vintage Sale in 2019 raised about R1.5mil, and they hoped to match that this year.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to 17 charities across the country which focus on improving literacy. Ten of them are based in Cape Town.
