The Izivunguvungu Youth Band (A team) was invited to perform at the recent International Maritime Conference held on the CPUT campus, Granger Bay.
The venue for this event is selected annually from the most famous international coastal cities. A photo is always taken of the conference mascot, Maritime Molly, with the guest music group and is added to the photo album for world distribution. Izivunguvungu continues the work as a youth development outreach project using music and sailing with an emphasis on life skills, now including children as young as 10 due to the risk of drugs and crime even at that age.
