Life doesn’t get easier as we get older. In fact, it gets harder. Daily chores become cumbersome and exactly that, chores.
Every good leader knows it is important to delegate. So why can’t we do the same in life? Offload and simplify. Make life easier for yourself as you grow older. Let someone do the shopping for you, walk and bath the dogs, mow the lawn and clean the house. Even have the cooking done. One less thing to worry about and get in the way of you living your best life.
You’re fit, you’re healthy, you’re independent and you’re perfectly capable of putting that picture up on your own. But why on Earth would you want to? There’s nothing to be ashamed of in getting someone else to do the work for you.
Who wants to have to get out the tools, measure it all up and then have to clean up afterwards? Certainly not us. Get someone else to do it.
Being 60 technically classifies you as a pensioner and gets you access to a whole bunch of benefits from discounts to queue jumps, which – don’t get us wrong – are great, but that doesn’t have to mean you are “old”.
What does it even mean to be old anymore? As is evident in the way people are ageing, 60 is the new 40 and 70 is the new 50. Being a “pensioner” does not necessarily mean you do not work anymore or need help in order to live your life the way you want and need to. People are staying fit, healthy, active and able for much longer and we love to see it. We want to see it.
There is nothing quite like the joy of seeing the Fish Hoek boardwalk packed full of +55s getting their exercise endorphins going on a Saturday morning and witnessing the hordes of grey-haired cyclists whizzing past on a Sunday. However, we can think of nothing worse than coming home after getting your exercise kick and having to mow the lawn or vacuum the floors.
So, what am I trying to get at here? That just because you are able bodied, fit, healthy and active, does not mean you need to spend the latter years of your life bogged down by life’s daily trials, tribulations and boring old chores.
Delegate and declutter your life and ultimately get someone else to do it for you. Let RezCare do it for you.
