According to figures released by the South African Police Service Missing Persons unit, a child goes missing every five hours in South Africa.
Missing Children South Africa (MCSA), a registered non-profit organisation which devotes its time to bringing these missing children home safely, say 23% of these children are never found, largely because of budget restraints.
On Saturday September 9, the Surf Emporium Muizenberg will host its annual Celebrity Surf Day.
There will be a 100-strong group who will enjoy a 1.5 hour surf lesson with a team of South African celebrities, among them South African cricketers Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis and Morne Morkel as well as Olympic medallist, Cameron van der Burgh and funny-man, Nik Rabinowitz.
The entry fee of R399 includes all equipment hire including surf board, wetsuit and rash-vest. Also included are professional high resolution images, a participation certificate, a celebrity signed Surf Emporium peak cap and lunch afterward.
There are also corporate group packages or you can sponsor a child from Waves for Change.
