Assault case postponed

The case involving a far south councillor, has been postponed to Wednesday, November 23, for mediation.

Simon Liell-Cock and Michael Kerr were engaged in an altercation on Wednesday October 19, which led to Mr Kerr pressing charges of common assault.

Ilze Rheeder, speaking on behalf of City council Speaker Dirk Smit, said: “Our process of investigation is not linked to the court and their processes, and we do not comment to the media on disciplinary matters until the matter is concluded.”
