Roy Meeser, the chairperson of Fish Hoek Cricket Club, is spearheading a free junior cricket programme. Children and especially home schoolers who need to partake in sporting activities are invited to partake. The Fish Hoek Cricket Club is gearing itself towards family involvement in the valley and are presently focusing on developing Fridays from 4pm till 6pm for parents and children to enjoy an evening together socialising with other families in the area. The coaching is free in order to give all children an opportunity to learn the sport. There are three cricket coaches available to train up the youngsters and Mr Meeser hopes to gather a group together of no less than 50 youngsters from all cultures and financial backgrounds. If your child is interested in forming a cricket team and would like to know more about the sport, call Mr Meeser on 082 494 3783 or email him at roy@newtonsphere. Mr Bing has had a long and successful association with cricket in South Africa and played provincial cricket for Western Province in the 1950s and 60s.
