First the SA Post Office closes our Muizenberg post office branch, where I have (or had) a rented post box, and my post-box mail was routed to the Retreat post office, inconvenient nevertheless.
I recently took the detour to the Retreat post office only to find that it has also been closed. I phoned the SA Post Office’s area office in Epping to be told that I must collect my post-box mail from Epping. Muizenberg to Epping and return – will the SA Post Office subsidise my petrol cost?
In February, I applied, and paid, to the City of Cape Town, to renew my vehicle licence using my street address for delivery. To date, the licence has not been delivered and my vehicle is now unlicensed.
What now, SA Post Office?
• SA Post Office spokesman Johan Kruger responds: The Retreat facility is temporarily closed due to a rental dispute, and all post-box mail for the Muizenberg and Retreat post offices is available at the Tokai post office in the Blue Route Mall, Tokai Road.
Every endeavour is being made to resolve this challenge, and the SA Post Office apologises for the inconvenience.
Concerning your reader’s licence disc, it is best if he asks the traffic authorities where the renewal was done for a tracking number so that the post office can locate the item.
