Kerry Ann Abramowitz, Glencairn Heights
For years, I’ve been begging ward councillors and various City staff to resurface Masiphumelele’s Pokela Road.
So far, the potholes are so deep in Pokela Road that they’ve popped two tyres on my car.
Can anybody help?
• Mayoral committee member for urban mobility Rob Quintas responds: The speed humps for Pokela Road are on the priority list for the new financial year, starting from July 1.
The City is aware of the fact that Masiphumelele residents have dug trenches across Pokela Road and have requested speed humps. The local roads infrastructure management depot has filled these trenches up with the assistance of law enforcement only for the residents to open them again. We kindly request the community to please work with us and to not dig trenches while we are working on their request for speed humps.
